So I haven’t been updating as frequently for awhile-and I apologize. I’ve just been kinda stressed, and for now I am mainly focusing on Australia’s Next Top Model as it’s a show everyone should watch. Here’s a roundup of what happened in reality recently though.
Survivor: Tocantins
The exit of Ben, aka Coach, was too late, as we had to hear his stories every episode. The final 4 of JT, Stephen, Taj, and Erinn competed in a crazy spider-shaped obstacle course challenge, with Erinn closing a gap but JT beating her by one second-and the guys blindsiding Taj at the Tribal. Then it’s the Fallen comrades walk and the final IC, which is more of a concentration game, with balls having to be dropped into a chute with one hand tied behind the back. JT won and took Stephen to the finals, where he then proceeded to get every single jury vote AND win the prize for fan favourite-joined by Taj and to Jeff’s surprise, Sierra (but not mine). Next season a cast of 18 will compete in Samoa.
Amazing Race 14
In China, Kisha and Jen were eliminated by a pee break, so the teams all raced to Hawaii, where they had to transport a pig 200 yards and prepare it for a luau, ride a jetski out to a buoy field, and then match up surfboards at the famous Surfboard Fence. Margie and Luke arrived first but Luke’s inability to match the last one let Tammy and Victor win the million. The redheads got 2nd, with Margie and Luke finishing a very respectable third. I have to say, the finale was anticlimatic because you just knew Tammy and Victor were going to win, and the three of them had made an F3 pact on night 1 in Switzerland. And even though I was Margie/Luke from the beginning, I wasn’t too disappointed with the Tammy/Victor win.
Pitchmen
It’s been a lot of new products-many flops, many successes. Along the way Billy and Anthony took a young inventor under their wings who invented the prototype for the Spot Sucker, a revolutionary stain-removing tool. They also met a couple from Australia who wanted to bring the indoor vertical grill back into the mainstream, as it was something that Black & Decker produced for many years and they paid thousands to buy the rights. That didn’t make it. A tool designed to grab broken screws didn’t make it on informercial, however it was selling well in stores. Some of the successes though were a foot stick made of essential oils, designed to help heal the worst cracked heels; an armband designed to hold tools; and “What Odor?”, a natural odor-removing spray. Hijinks were a plenty as Billy pranked Sully, Sully pranked Billy, and all was right in the world.
18 Kids/Counting
Admittedly, I missed the date night episode, however this last new one had the Duggars having a St. Patrick’s Day breakfast, with Michelle teaching all the kids about who St. Patrick really was. Quite humourous was Jim Bob saying that a green breakfast would lead to a green bowel movement. Heh. They then got custom blinds installed, which the boys loved as it would keep the sun from getting into their room, but it was mainly for the ease of the production team so that they wouldn’t have too much light. Then four of the middle kids-Josiah, Joy Anna, and the twins-go to the dentist, along with John David, who had a pretty deep cavity. Jeremiah and Joy Anna do pretty well, while Jeddediah has to get a couple fillings. It’s funny though when Joy Anna takes the camera and films the receptionists. Next week, the kids go to a public school-that’s going to be a must-see episode. Take that, Gosselins.
Dancing With The Stars
Bouncing back from injury, Melissa had a perfect 30 on her samba during Latin Solo week, where all the stars had to do a 15-second solo, and Ty upset Kim and sent her packing. However it was only for one week, as he was sent out before the finals. They all performed a group PD, with Melissa thankfully not wearing the tents that Cheryl and Shawn wore. Then it was the freestyles, with Shawn doing a young, upbeat dance, Melissa doing more of a hiphop/dance team routine, and Gilles doing Flashdance. Shawn definitely had the advantage going into the freestyle as she was the only one not injured, and it paid off as she, unfortunately, won. They also danced encores of their dances, with she and Mark doing the cha cha, Gilles doing the PD, and Melissa doing-what else-the samba. It would have been nice for them to reprise the AT which should have gotten them a 30, or do The Jive That Never Was, but they played it safer. The only eliminated stars who did full performances were the Woz, LT, Chuck, Kim, and Ty. Everyone else did a group piece, although I wasn’t crazy about Steve-O doing the foxtrot again.
Daisy of Love
It’s been very crazy, as the second challenge was a show-and-tell, with the top three guys and the best one from the lapdance detention getting a date. Flipper eliminated himself, and Professor and Weasel leaving. Then at paintball, Brooklyn drops out, guys win dates, and Tool Box and Cable Guy are sent packing. The next challenge is remixing nursery rhymes, and London wins the challenge with his team, but he then drops out. The guys then have to style Daisy for a photo shoot for the cover of a single, with Fox winning a solo date and Flex, Sinister, and 6 Gauge winning a skatepark date. Back at the house, in one of the funniest reality moments ever, a skunk gets into the house and sprays 12 Pack, with Big Rig being the one to get it out of the house. Cage is definitely pissed about stuff and after getting really drunk, attacks both Flex and 6 Gauge. He then drops out because he can’t avoid hitting someone. Next episode, it’s cage-fighting, with Chi Chi vs. Sinister and it gets brutal. Also one guy is accused of having a live-in girlfriend in the episode after that.
Charm School 3
In what has already been a crazy season, Brittaney Starr instigated a fight between her and Beverly that led to Beverly kicking some ass, and being taken out of Charm School. Gia then got totally sloshed and was sent away, but she did get rehab afterwards. Their first challenge was to help clean up a river in LA, and Ashley, Marcia, and Kiki were sent to the carpet, with Kiki getting sent home in what many girls saw as a racist move. After all of that, both So Hood and Farrah left the house, as the girls were put to the test of socializing with seniors. Roxanne (KO) and Bianca (Bubbles) both did well, but Bay Bay Bay won after helping an old man up. Natasha strategized to get Bianca, Brittaney, and Brittanya down on the carpet, but all for nothing as Ricki decided to keep them all for another week-in which they will be helping kids exercise by leading PE classes.
In other news, Tool Academy will be back on Sunday nights in August, joining Megan Wants A Millionaire, the dating show of manytime reality star Megan Hauserman. Brooke Knows Best premieres for a new season where she tries to patch things up with Hulk, turns 21, and continues to live the bachelorette life. Terrell Owens is getting “The T.O. Show” which premieres on the 27th of July on VH1. Meanwhile Bravo has greenlit The Real Housewives of Washington D.C., and is in the process of shooting Real Housewives of Atlanta 2, and I think another season of Real Housewives of the O.C. E! premieres Kendra on the 7th of June, which follows former Hefner girlfriend Kendra Wilkinson as she moves out of the Playboy mansion and into her own place, in preparation for her upcoming wedding to Hank Baskett. It also features the premiere of the second season of Denise Richard’s reality show. So just when you think there isn’t a lot on reality, think again.
